Baby Steps to Better Health!

Baby steps are better than no steps at all!

Sometimes change can be a bit of a challenge so when doing so be gentle with yourself.
The ego is a feisty  one and can put up a big fight at times especially when you are making changes in your life.

But guess what?  You are worth it and if you had the idea to make changes in the first place then you can bet your getting “nudged” by a part of you that has your best interest in mind. Peace of mind and better health are on it’s way!
So how is it done?

Let’s take changing the way we eat for an example.
The idea is to feel better and to make healthier choices in order to lose weight, have more energy, balance hormones, etc.
Baby steps and yet significant steps would be to perhaps have an apple or pear with Almond or Peanut butter on it for a snack.
Try different fruits, enjoy the vibrant colors, the juiciness and savor every bite.
Next step could be making yourself a smoothie with a base of Almond, Coconut, Rice or Hemp seed milk and adding some fresh berries and  pitted dates to sweeten.
So far so good?  Excellent!

To add some calcium, protein and a bunch of other life giving nutrients add a handful of fresh baby spinach, 3-5 leaves of kale or  an avocado (Peeled and pitted) to your smoothie.
Now you can add salads and play with different combinations of veggies, nuts and fruits.
Most importantly have fun as you are trying new foods.

Another example would be to de-clutter your life and/or environment.
Go through your closet and get rid of shoes, handbags, clothes, etc. that you haven’t worn over the past year. Pass it onto someone you know that would love to have it or donate it to Goodwill or to a homeless shelter.
Do you have too much paper clutter?
Go through your mail each time you get it instead of setting it aside to go through another time. No time like the present (and a lot less to deal with later).
Receipts piling up from a business?
Place them in a folder and record and store them at the end of each month into a spreadsheet.
This saves time and is a lot less stressful.

Little by little as you take baby steps you will have less clutter and more organization around you.
Oh what a feeling!
Shall we dance now?  Life has just gotten that much easier all because of a few small but significant baby steps.
